TV or Silence
So...let me vent and speak on what is really good with me. Okay, well you'll know that I am married and have been for 8 years. Mr. B and I met in 1998 in high school and have been together the ENTIRE time. Our relationship is cool but, lately I feel distant. Let me tell you why. Sometimes after a couple has kids and they what been together for awhile. You stop doing what you did to get your mate in the first place. Is this right? NO!!! You cannot go and give your spouse you undivided attention for 8 years and then block her out. Why is television more important then quality time with wife or children?

Yes We Can, Yes WE DID!
WOW!!! Words cannot express the emotion that came over me when CNN pronounced that Barack Obama was the president elected for the next 4 years!!!!! I was happy, I was surprised, I was uplifted, I was encouraged, I was glad, I was crying, I was smiling….I felt like a kid in a candle store. Gazing at the television like it was a lollipop----I watched at the Republican hopeful John McCain announced that he was not going to when and that he congratulated Obama. I waited and waited for Obama to come speak and to look into the audience of all those thousand and thousands of people that have the same hope and want for change as I do – it was amazing. Obama came to speak and there is something about him…something about the way that this man speaks that makes you want to listen. It doesn’t sound like a bunch of crap It is believable and I feel that he is truly for the people. I am SO EXCITED that we have our FIRST AFRICAN AMERICAN PRESIDENT!
Growing up throughout grade school I would have NEVER imagined that there would ever be or that I would LIVE to see it happen. I have – we have….we have all seen this happen on Nov. 4th 2008. Come January 2009 we will have a new commander and chief. I do not put all my faith in man – I put faith in God that he will give us (men and women) the strength to deal with and overcome this changing times. GOD IS SO GOOD! Words cannot begin to express the way I feel. I have hope and know that all things are possible for my boys. They can do anything they want to … if they want to be a astronaut – THEY CAN. If they want to be president….THEY CAN!! Barack has set the record and I know and hope that he does us proud.
MICHELLE – beautiful, black woman – she is a supportive wife and mother and now our new first lady. I totally forgot about that title she will hold because I was so busy celebrating Barack. She looks like me – black skin, black hair…. This is like a dream. Someone pinch me – because this is too good to be true. We will see what the next 4 years will hold for us now that there is a democratic presidency.
God bless you and god bless America!!!!!!!!!!!

UPDATE on Hudson Family Tragedy ( Sending prayers up)
By Associated Press
October 27, 2008, 3:11 pm PDT
In this Oct. 6, 2008 file photo, cast member Jennifer Hudson poses at the premiere of the film 'The Secret Life of Bees' at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Beverly Hills, Calif. (AP Photo/Chris Pizzello, file)Associated Press NEW YORK - Just a month ago, a bubbly Jennifer Hudson — who had been striking gold with just about everything she touched — was running down the list of all the projects that she expected would soon dominate her life.
Already an Oscar-winning actress, the 27-year-old was about to release her first album, which would become an instant best-seller, and a new movie, "The Secret Life of Bees." But the entertainer saw so much more in her future.
"I am planning on touring," she said, rattling off a list of her upcoming priorities. "There's more films and more music and stuff like that ... I want to start a fashion line as well, start writing music."
There were also plans of a big wedding to new fiance David Otunga.
"It's gonna be a production," she gushed. "I have so many visions for it right now — I get to put that together."
But last week, at a moment when her wildest dreams were either realized or seemed well within reach, she suffered a personal tragedy so devastating, so unthinkable, that it would be understandable if she never moved to reclaim them.
Instead of filming a video for her new single Monday in Los Angeles, Hudson was in Chicago, identifying the body of a child believed to be her 7-year-old nephew Julian — apparently the third victim in a killing spree that had already claimed her mother and brother, whose bodies she had identified a couple of days before.
"This is really something no one can really deal with, and you never fully recover from something like this," said Harvey Mason, who has written and produced songs for Hudson and considers her a friend. "But she's a very strong person, and she's got a great heart, and I'm just sad something like this has had to enter into her life."
Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson, 57, and 29-year-old brother, Jason Hudson, were killed in the family's home in a homicide police have described as domestic in nature. Her sister Julia's 7-year-old son, Julian, was declared missing, along with a white truck taken from the scene.
On Monday, after a weekend of pleas from both Julia and Jennifer Hudson — who had offered $100,000 Sunday for information leading to the boy's safe return — police found the truck and the body of a 7-year-old child inside who they later said was Julian.
Police have been questioning William Balfour, the estranged husband of Julia Hudson who is in custody. Balfour is not the boy's father and has not been charged in the slayings.
Although Hudson has spoken out from her MySpace.com page, thanking fans for their support, she has been in seclusion in Chicago. All public events that she had scheduled over the next week or so have been canceled, and a planned video shoot for her new single "If It Isn't Love," which was to take place starting Monday in Los Angeles, was also abandoned.
The triple homicide came as Hudson's career continued on the white-hot streak that began with her Oscar-winning role in the movie "Dreamgirls." The singer had first come to prominence as a big-voiced finalist on "American Idol" in 2005, but floundered in her career.
Without a record deal and only no-name producers to work with, she even began to wonder if a music career was ever going to happen for her.
"After 'Idol,' I didn't have a manager, I didn't have an agent, none of that," she said. "I just had random producers."
That all changed when she was cast in the movie adaptation of the classic Broadway musical. The movie's stars included Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx, Beyonce and Eddie Murphy — but it was Hudson who stole scene after scene, and landed an Academy Award in 2007 for best supporting actress for the portrayal of the troubled singer Effie.
After that, Hudson also appeared in summer hit "Sex and the City," and has a supporting role in the movie "The Secret Life of Bees," in theaters now. Meanwhile, she was at work on her self-titled album, which debuted at No. 2 on the charts earlier this month and has spawned the hit single, "Spotlight."
In addition to those achievements, she also was selected to sing the national anthem before Barack Obama's historic acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention in August. She called the experience "the most overwhelming and meaningful thing to date that I've done." When asked if she was registered to vote, she laughed and said: "I'm registered definitely — my mom would have it no other way!"
Hudson was particularly close to her family, and members were usually on hand during the major milestones in her career, including her Oscar win.
"They came out for a lot of awards, things like that. The family was a very close knit family, as far as I can tell, all very sweet and supportive," said Mason, who recalled meeting her family and how proud Jennifer was to introduce them to people. "Jennifer's family seemed to be a big part of her support structure."
Mason has yet to speak with Hudson, but said he had extended his support and prayers, along with a host of other celebrity friends and supporters.
The songwriter and producer, who worked with Hudson on the "Dreamgirls" soundtrack and also her new album, said he'd never encountered a situation where a celebrity had endured such a tragedy, so he couldn't imagine how it might affect her career.
Hudson said last month that she didn't have a specific movie project in the works, and talks of a tour were preliminary — no dates have been set. A representative for her label, Arista Records, said it was too early to talk about how the tragedy might affect the promotion of her CD. The label released this statement of support: "On behalf of the RCA Music Group and Arista Records, we send our deepest sympathies and condolences to Jennifer and her family during this difficult time."
"I think it could affect her career; It's going to take some time for her to get back on the road, back in promotion," said Mason. "She's definitely not going to feel like doing too much phone interviews, radio interviews. I just think it's going to take her a minute to recover, but as I said, she's a very strong person, and she's very talented. It's hard for me to guess how it would impact her in the long haul."
Mom has GOT too do better!!!

Where's My Cookie?
Okay, so dinner was delivered this evening by a good friend of the family….Mr. Pizza Hut. Yeah we got up on that pepperoni stuffed crust ---been wanting pizza for 2 weeks. Mr. B. was stuck in traffic coming home from across the bridge. So, the boys and I were hungry we went ahead and placed our order. I worked last night so I was a little tired and I had done some laundry and mopped a few floors before I went to sleep. So with that being sad… the title – “Where’s My Cookie”. Comes from just this – we were sitting on the living room floor watching – Private Practice and the kids asked for desert. I said sure we have those cookies that can be thrown in the oven and baked.
They were excited…. So, being tired from working all night long (while Mr. B) was sleeping and cleaning after that I asked if he would put them in the oven. He stated that he was comfortable on the floor and that he didn’t want to get up. So okay – at that point I was a little p/o. because it was my resting time for work approx. 7:25 p.m. and I had to be to work at 12 midnight.
I got up and put 2 cookies each in the oven for me and the boy’s…. oh lawd, Mr. B realized that there was no cookie for him and was not happy about that. I figured if he didn’t want to cook them he was resting then he would be too tired to eat one. Am I wrong? Even if you think I am – guess what? I cater to everyone in my house – sometime I would like to be catered to. End of story! Candi ~ out.

Gamemaster VOTES for Obama!
Now, regardless of what the child said it was where he heard this type of statement. HIS PARENTS! Now, we all have our views but we need to make sure that we are aware that are kids are listening when we speak. That was a ignorant remark regardless of who you want to win or who you think will do best. That mom or dad should be ashamed of themselves. Opposing there own opinions on there child.
It is said to say when you move to a city with the best schools in the area you are forced to deal with things that should be past. You get looked at crazy, your child is one of few africian americans in his class and all for the expense of a decent education for you child. What is a parent to do?

Another Day, Another Dolla
Well, it is 6:03 a.m. on Thursday October 23, 2008. I am sitting here at the nurse’s station at work ready to get in the bed– I have about 2 hours left on my tour. I had a good night – The only thing I am not happy about is working the next 4 nights before I get 2 days off. I really wish I could have better time schedule between my days worked and days off.
OK – so I have been showing a few friends and coworkers my blog. Everyone wants to know why do you blog? Well, you blog because you want to express your opinions about how you feel about a certain situation. You can use different avenues to do just that. I will be starting a Fabulous Friday Edition on my blog – this edition will be freebies on the net, new product reviews, the latest movie releases and reviews if I have seen the movie. I think this will spice up my page a bit. Until next time readers!

Time is Going Slow
I’m at work right now – waiting for the time to pass by. Really don’t have any plans for later on today. Hopefully, Mr. B and I can spend some qt while the children are at daycare after he leaves from the gun range. So far the morning is going well. I am sitting here at the Nurse’s station listen to my coworker listen to her 103jamz.com music player. She is too funnyJ. It is 2:25 a.m. --à Anyway… I want to talk about a new friend on mine – let’s call her Classy because she is pretty cool and we have clicked since we met in July.
So Classy and I met @ work orientation because we both got our new jobs at the same time. We work in a hospital and are both healthcare providers. It is so funny because at orientation I would have never thought that we would click like that but, we have a lot in common. That is why you cannot prejudge because that person that appears to be “stuck up” may not be and then you have just lost out on a new and meaningful friendship.
It is nice to have someone starts working with you in a new place at the same time because then you have someone to vent too or compare situations with. Let’s just say where we work plays the bills but, it is no cake walk. There are days that you leave and have some energy left and days that you have been driven totally crazy by everyone. But, other then that it is all good. I will be getting sleepy sound I feel it coming on….. XOXO ~ Candi

A gun.....in WHO'S house?
But, NO! Mr. B is going with his bff (let's call him St. Louis)to the gun range. Yeah that's right the gun range. Let me stated for the record your honor - I do not have a problem with Mr. B's plans..... Now, I haven't told yall much about Mr. B just yet because I love my man and don't want to put him on front street but, I'm about to park this issue on YOU HAVE LOST YOU DAMN MIND Lane....
Mr.B is somewhat a home body - you know we go out and stuff like that but he is a movieman. He likes to go to the redbox(.com - if you never experienced it. and rent us a movie and we get on the couch and watch it. I really think that he thinks his 7 years in the military classify him to carry a concealed weapon...or maybe it is just this sad, sad day and times that we are living in that has him wanting to get prepared. Now don't think I am hatin' cause I can pack me a piece of steel if I want to but, I don't. I all actually GUNS scare me. Because it is not guns that kill people - it's the finger on the person behing the trigger that kills people.
Everyone know that busybee is into everything and that is my worst fear. You see it on the news more often then not - "CHILD SHOT WITH PARENTS GUN".Now, I am not claiming that at ALL. But, the reality of the situation is just that. Kids are curious buy nature. They experiment and get in trouble for it.
I want Mr. B to do whatever he feels necessary as far as improving his marksmanship and visit the gun range all he wants but, as far as purchasing a weapon and keeping it in my house with me and the boys that is a WHOLE 'notha story... YA heard me!
Holla at your girl -- am I trippin?

YES WE CAN ~ Anotha Momma 4 Obama!!!
Little R & R
About Yesterday!
Moving on ----> So yesterday morning when I got work at 8 a.m. I had a conference with gamemaster's teacher. I was so sleepy but still remained attentive throughout our meeting. Then I came home and went to sleep and then woke up and went to pickup busybee ande babyboy from daycare. Then the kids and I met Mr. B at Burlington Coat Factory and Mr. B and I split up - he went to the men section and I went to the Women section.
Next thing I know - my cell phone is ringing. Who is it you ask? It is Mr. B calling me - I look at the cellphone display and the first thing that comes to mind is why is he calling me when we just got here? I answered and he goes on to tell me that busybee jumped out of the shopping cart and smacked his face on the hard tiled floor! I said, "WHAT!" He brought busybee to me in the woman section and I examined his mouth (being the healthcare professional I am) I have to assess the situation (hehehe!!).
His top lip was cut and his two front teeth looked like they were going to come out, they were lose and bleeding. I immediately called the dentist because at this time it was 5:15 p.m. and they close at 5:30 p.m. I asked if they had emergency appointments and they didnt have anymore so they schedule us for today at 9 a.m. ( that is a whole 'nother post honey!)
